Arizona/Tennessee game intrigues me tonight. Will be a visual test if nothing else to see where we stand with the current roster.

Some pretty good games on today just before Christmas.


Notre Dame legs out a 10-point win over a deceptively decent Texas A&M Corpus Christi team (I'm getting a TAMUCC sweatshirt for Christmas, 'cause I love obscure Division 1 apparel.)

Minnesota trailing at the half to Green Bay. That would be a bad loss. GB is 319 in KenPom.

This does not look like the same AZ team we played so far, losing 22-7. Nine turnovers already with 12 & 1/2minutes left to play in the first half...

They have the Cats sped up and are playing better defense than what we did. Still early, but AZ has 9 TO's early in 1st half.

Perimeter length: coming soon to an Illini team near you. That’s one area where Tennessee is standing out—length bothering Mathurin and Krissa.

Also, can we get some home cooking like I see other teams get? Especially because Kofi is fouled…checks notes…every possession.

Vols hold AZ to 21 and lead by 13 at half. Mathurin has 14 of the Cats' 21 points. The rest of the team not shooting well. Vols killing AZ on the boards 24 to 15... AZ having trouble scoring inside. Vols have a good defensive team. Cats with 12 TO's.

Tubelis and Kriisa, and Koloko, all who did well against us, have yet to score a point!

Vols are tucked neatly into Cats' shorts. Rick had them ready to dig ditches tonight. Blue collar.

AZ cuts it to 4 point TN lead in first four minutes of second half.

Kriisa has 9 points in 4 minutes to start the 2nd half. AZ beginning to run at will.

Good game.

AZ's front line of Koloko and Tubelis were basically taken out of this game... non-factors. Mathurin is a stud ... 28 points, 8 boards, and 5 assists. Fouled out with about 2 minutes to go. The two big guys for AZ killed us, especially Tubelis. We could use a hard nosed power forward.
