Starting this thread just so that I can say that Miami is beating UNC 44-36 at the half in Chapel Hill. Would love to see UNC go down in advance of their game with Dook.

Saint Joe's also stomped down on Rhode Island by 30. Rhode Island keeps creeping into the top 25 and I really don't understand it.

Agreed. I haven't paid much attention to them but just took a look at their season and didn't see anything which tells me they are a top 20 team.

Miami still up on UNC, 59-46. :thumb:

And Miami wins it on a last second shot, 91-88. What a great game!

Very impressed with Miami, they took everything UNC had and still gutted it out.

It seems like every time I’ve stopped at a sports bar or restaurant or randomly looked for a game to watch lately, Rhode Island has been on. And each time it seems they’re always sneaking past some nobody or losing.

Didn't IL have an issue with Miami a few years back? Was sort of torn of who to root against.

Duke lost last night at V Tech too. Should be an interesting game when they & NC play this weekend. Is there a possible way they could BOTH lose? ;)

So.....does Oklahoma make the NCAA tournament?

12 losses now, 7-10 in conference play, and they've been playing horrific down the stretch. But they do have some really good wins -- Wichita State, KU, Texas Tech, etc.

I bet they get in......it's going to be hard to pick some scrubby bubble team over Trae Young (as unfair as that may be).

Doesn't matter - they will both jump up 5 spots in the polls for playing a 'great game' against each other. Have watched both against VaTech and other games - both are over rated in my opinion but the ACC aura helps to keep them up in the polls regardless of bad losses (St. John's anyone?). Tech beat both at home, Duke within the last second, and handled UNC pretty easily. Coach K is really annoying to watch as he constantly whines to the refs during games even when he is getting all the calls. Two half-hearted handshakes in the line after the game and then he wonders off to find a ref. Just really needs to retire.

Rhode Island will make some noise come tourney time, bet on them to win at least 2 depending on pairings. They have good guards, and as we all know first hand that can take you a long way in the tourney.

Akron's head coach John Groce is ejected from the Zips game against the Buffalo Bulls with 24.7 seconds remaining in the game. Groce walked across the court to confront the referee before receiving the 2 Ts and the subsequent toss from the game. Akron lost 80-68.

The new glasses-look means JG saw the previous play correctly and the refs should have gone to the monitor for a review to reverse the call. :D :thumb:

Was he ever ejected from one of our games? Would have liked to have seen that much real emotion while he was here.
