Thought the same thing.

I’m a fan of rushing the court but only if:

You’re unranked and you beat #1.
I am a little less stringent than that, but when you are #20 and beat #8, that doesn't really seem to be a court-rushing moment to me. I feel like any time you beat #1 (or maybe #2) regardless of your own rank it's warranted. Winning a big rivalry game as an underdog also buys some leeway in court rushworthiness.

Especially when you are #20 with the talent to be top 10

I'm FAR from a court rushing "snob," and I am not sure there should be that many hard-cut rules. For example, I had no issue when we stormed the court after beating top 10 MSU during Ayo's freshman year; it was a huge turning point for the program, as we look back.

With that said ... if you are a ranked team and you win at home, you probably shouldn't be rushing the court unless it's an epic buzzer beater, lol.

EDIT: Back when I was but a wee little eight grader who only lurked on this site, I remember Dan posting in the 2006 season that after IU beat us in Bloomington, it marked the third straight Illini loss on the road where the crowd stormed the floor (previous two being the OSU loss to end the '05 regular season and Iowa beating us in Iowa City in January 2006). That has to be a record still, right??
