Thomas Pieters shot 4 under on the front 9 of the opening round. Currently leading as he makes the turn. Steve Stricker teeing off soon. Fortunately neither of them fell down the stairs yesterday.

I have DJ as my top pick in a fantasy golf league. Tried to trade him for Pieters after I heard about his accident but it was to late.

Last I saw DJ was cautiously optimistic and will play. Pieters certainly has been an impressive player thus far in his professional career.

Curious to know if Pieters bought his own caddie, or if the caddie is from U.S. Hope he wins it all.

Adam Marrow has been his caddie. I only got to see about 30 minutes of play today and didn't notice if it was Marrow or someone else on the bag. I can't imagine he'd pass up the chance to work the Masters.

We're getting some nice publicity from CBS announcers in regards to TP's time at UI, especially giving props to Mike Small's program.

So, just tuning in to the Masters here on Sunday. I see Pieters is doing well. I don't follow pro golf very closely, but I looked up his career:

I see he has had 3 top 25 finishes (including 2 top 10) on the 2017 PGA Tour, but shows no money? Why is that? I see he's has nearly $4 Mil in career earnings on Euro Tour. Does he have amatuer status in USA PGA or something?

He's earned temporary status on the tour this season, but won't show up on the money list until he has his card, which will be next season.

Doesn't he have 3 top 5 finishes so far? You'd think that would be enough to earn a card. Especially finishing 4th in the Masters. Must be tough to earn a card, lol.

You can't get a card in the middle of the season. As I said, he's got special status which means unlimited exemptions so he can play in just about any event he wants to for the rest of this year. And he does have a card locked up for next season.
