Since I'm sitting here watching the Duel right now, it seems like the perfect time to fire this thread back up. There certainly is no shortage of big storylines heading into this season, so what is everybody looking forward to the most? Dale Jr's return? The new title sponsor and a revamped points system? Jimmie's quest for the record #8? Stewart-Haas switching from Chevy to Ford? Carl Edwards/Daniel Suarez? Something else? Let's hear it!
2017 NASCAR Season
The new points system is NASCAR reinventing the wheel way more than they need to. Not only that but it is WAY more confusing than it needs to be.

I'm excited to see how the points work and that all the races are split into heats. I think it will make each Sunday more entertaining with all the strategy that's going to come into it. With playoff points being awarded after each segment I'd expect a lot more short pitting or lower funded teams taking risks to get those points for Top 10 finishes.
The changes could be a total failure and NASCAR could just revert back in a couple seasons but I expect to see some major benefits starting with this weekend.

While I'd agree that they probably went way more gimmicky than they needed to, I think it's definitely a good step. I'm a big fan of having a season long, cumulative, element back in the points. I'll give it some time to see how it works out, and I'm sure it'll need to get tweaked at some point, but I like the attempt to blend the old with the new.

First time I've watched a race in a while. Kinda like the new points system, actually! I'm sure a reference to European sports won't help convince many NASCAR fans, but it reminds me of the intermediate sprints on the flat stages of the Tour de France, which tend to be pretty exciting.
Kurt Busch wins the Daytona 500 for the first time in his career.
That ending really sucked. I can't stand either of the busch's. Was really pulling for Chase, would have been awesome (see what I did there?)
