2021-22 College Football Coaching Carousel

I'll stay with CBB now. I think he will elevate our program to a fairly high level. If he was available during the CBB coaching search, I would have at least kicked the tires. He's a proven winner in a profession and a sport with alot of meatheads and nefarious types, coaches and players alike. Their transgressions are simply made in the public eye. I once worked with a guy who seemed like a solid citizen. Good family man by all appearances. He was part of our golf foursome on Saturday morning. One Saturday he didn't show. No one knew why. We later learned he was picked up in the early morning hours by the police. Turns out he was a sexual predator. Trolled for and met young girls through the internet. Guy was 46 years old. We were dumbfounded. You know your values and those of a relatively small circle of friends. Beyond that...

Crazy idea, but what if we went for Urban Meyer? I think Josh has to at least consider it. Maybe not move or even make a call, but Urban getting fired from Jags, being toxic for most programs at this time, wouldn't it be a time that our school might actually be an attractive position for him? Gets back to the B1G, on the weaker side of the B1G. We get a guy who made college football seem easy, perennial national championship competing team, great recruiter and yes, we get a bit of a reputation hit, will likely pay out the wazoo to break Brett's contract...but we immediately become a contender. Maybe not 22, but 23 for sure. I know, crazy, but there's some logic there...some...

Since winning the national title in 2019 Dabo has lost his AD, both OC’s, DC, and golden boy QB.

It’s possible Clemson’s moment at the apex of college football is over.
Nick Saban has this occur every year. He simply re loads with great assistant coaches. Program superiority allows for the train to keep moving down the track. This happened to Mack Brown at Texas and other notable coaches ended quick for them. aka Zook! We shall see if Dabo can replenish the coaching staff. I would Not Bet against him. He's a great cheerleader, believer in what he doing.

Culley, Brian Flores and Vic Fangio all seem like better coaches than guys who are about to get hired.
No idea really whether Fangio is a good head coach. He didn't do much in Denver but it is very hard to win in the NFL (or NCAA) without a QB. Having a brain dead front office and effectively no ownership doesn't help either (see also Bears, Chicago and Lions, Detroit and...).

They got out of Fangio what they gave him. Top 5 offense and nothing for offense. He is a fine HC and shouldn't have been fired.

A strange rumor on Twitter is that Lovie is in the running for the Texans Job. I wonder if Miles would be promoted. 😂
Was odd that when they announced they were firing Culley, they also announced they were firing the OC. No mention of the DC. Maybe Lovie will just have to move offices. I wouldn't rule anything out with that franchise.

The Texans are insane. How could they fire that guy?
Apparently, Culley got caught in a power struggle between the GM and owner. So the head coach gets fired. Makes sense. Successful businessmen want to play with their expensive toy and think they know more than men with years in the NFL.

Would think the Lions and Jags would be grateful for the help in making their head coaching jobs seem desirable by comparison.
