Hearing that Michigan and Kansas have an interest in Miller. I can't believe he fits at either one. DePaul supposedly had a Zoom meeting with him. Now that makes more sense.
The way the rules are, once a kid goes into the TP, the school has two business days to report it to the powers to be. His name should be on it today or tomorrow.

The only place he should go is back to Illinois or to Bradley. We will keep dreaming here in Peoria until he decides.

Idk what anyone else thinks, but him to Kentucky sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. If he left Illinois for the reasons we think, no way he will find it better in that environment.
Agree 100%, but if rumors are to be believed he also thought he'd be one-and-done so wouldn't shock me if he thought he could be the man there despite all evidence to the contrary

On WDWS this evening, Kedric Prince said is wasn't Adam's idea to transfer, but was 'his people'. Said good chance he comes back, but also said Indiana is really pushing for him.

It's not about being the man with Miller but more so that he doesn't get to do the things he needs to in our offense to make the league.

Underwood runs the high pick and roll almost exclusively and the other guys are out there to space the floor, hit 3s, or drive on dishes. There's not much action/motion for other guards to share ball handling outside transition.

Think of it through that lens, not about "being the man." He was in the spotlight - started every game and played huge minutes..

Good point, but this is why I get frustrated with players making college choices. This offense shouldn't have been a surprise to him. I see lots of players do that and I don't understand why they don't look at the programs recruiting them logically.

Wish I was logical when I was 17

Counterpoint though, what is Miller most likely to get paid in the nba to do? Space the floor,
Hit 3’s, play defense. No one is going to draft him with the idea to put the ball in his hands and create. A wing who averages 12 ppg but is an elite 3 and D player has a much better shot at making the league than a high usage 18 ppg scorer who shoots 40% from the field.

My memory is hazy so I'll throw it up to the board: Is the the pick-n-roll at the point a mainstay of the Underwood offense? Or more of a byproduct of maximizing the action of Ayo-Kofi in those situations and is 2021 dependent?

The latter. I think Gentry mentioned doing an “autopsy” of the 2019-20 offense and deciding to overhaul to run more P&R to leverage Kofi’s Shaqness. It worked.

Too small for an NBA 3 and D wing. Thinks he needs the ball in his hands and to show he can create.

“We spent our whole fall on our base ball-screen offense,” he says. “We didn’t even add any sets. We kind of went to that Gonzaga mentality of teaching our guys how to play within different ball-screen concepts within different coverages, over and over and over again. It was all that time working on how to play the game that’s been the gift that keeps on giving.”

That's a quote from Gentry about them revamping their offense to fit the personnel they had.

We had just one play from the Gonzaga playbook in ours - a zone set. But a long time Gonzaga beat writer called Gentry and told him that Illinois looked just like Gonzaga.

No it's a facility that several top amateur athletes and pro athletes go to for training. The owner there is pretty agnostic and doesn't allow for his facility to be a place of access for any program.
Looks like they are at Quest working with trainer Basil Evelyn. Lots of high-end Chicago kids have trained there/ran tourneys at various times over the years.

What's the source for that quote / interview? Interested to check it out

I noticed that you're right as well. I was referring to the performance training facility Pro Trained Athletics but it appears the Hopkins and AM had sessions at both facilities today.

My bet is the offense was not a surprise to him. His people probably just thought he would be one of the guys running the pick and rolls rather than spacing the floor.

I’m sure in practice he was given the chance as well. If he showed he was a dynamite pick and roll guard, I doubt the staff would have left him out there only to shoot 3s.

I know Groce’s “players play players” saying gets a lot of flack around here. But it’s pretty true. Players show what they can do on the court, and whatever they show best, if it’s better than others the team, puts them on the floor in that spot.
