Apparently Fitzie took it upon himself to welcome the 4 new coaches to the B1G. Except he only mentioned 3 and omitted Lovie.

Classy, Fitz. Classy.

I'm surprised by this. I wish the whole rivalry that was artificially propped up by Beckman would just stop. Having said that, its poor taste to not mention Lovie.

Hopefully we can get back to the point where we don't have to look at NU as an important rival. They've had a phenomenal program in recent history, but we are the flagship school of a massive state with tons of alumni and more than enough financial support. We should be consistently beating a tiny private school with tough academic standards.

Lovie bleeds class , just listening to him makes me not worry about recruiting, I think he knows what he is doing

Lovie was the same Lovie we were used to seeing with the Bears. He has a calm demeanor and confidence that will hopefully cause the players to trust him, unlike what we have seen with the last two coaches. I like the direction we are going. Let's hope it spills over to the recruiting world.

It's nice to see professionalism at the podium representing my favorite college football team. Even back to the Bears days the quality I appreciate in Lovie is the quiet confidence.

Does anyone know the update over/under on the amount of wins this year? A successful Big Ten Media Day for the first time in a while makes me excited

Does that guy work for Josh Whitman? I don't think a more positive article could have been written. I want to believe it all. It will be very interesting to see how this team plays under Smith (not wins and losses), but the grit and determination we hope to see. Interesting times indeed for our Illini.

Exactly what I was thinking.
