Was gonna try a Texas COVID joke, but it seems in poor taste even by my own low standards. Speedy recovery to Coach. I hope both teams’ athletes are at 100% as we’ve all been looking forward to this game

Does anyone know how this will impact the Illini-Baylor game scheduled for 12/2?
Somebody please correct me if I am mistaken (and I really hope I am mistaken here), but my understanding is that the B10 is following the CDC guidelines that if exposed you should quarantine for 14 days and no amount of negative test results can shorten that 14 day quarantine. If that's true then any players who had close contact with the head coach from 48 hours before the coach tested positive (I would assume this is 100% of the players) should remain quarantined for 14 days. 12/2 would be just 10 days (from 11/20) so it seems like Illinois would not be likely to play this game on the scheduled date. While I really want to see Illinois test itself against top competition like Baylor, I also want to see Illinois play against Duke, Missouri, and Minnesota which are all within 14 days of their Baylor game and if they contracted COVID from the Baylor team it's very likely the impacts to our season could be quite a bit worse than just missing those next 3 games.
That depends. For instance, Wright State has only 6 players who could have played vs. us while the rest are in quarantine. These six are still eligible because they had the virus previously and are now, thus, immune.Does anyone know how this will impact the Illini-Baylor game scheduled for 12/2?

My guess is that our game with Baylor is moved to Dec. 5 -- almost like a final 4 weekend playing Duke 3 days later.I’d be shocked if the Baylor Bears are playing a basketball game on December 2nd.
I also started down that road thinking 12/5 would make a lot of sense. But then I noticed Baylor already has a game against Gonzaga scheduled on 12/5 and now I don’t think this is very likely. My guess is that our game with Baylor is moved to Dec. 5 -- almost like a final 4 weekend playing Duke 3 days later.
This would also be great for us, having a few games under our belt while Baylor has not.
"Oh we'll just replace this top-tier match up with another one. No biggie."I also started down that road thinking 12/5 would make a lot of sense. But then I noticed Baylor already has a game against Gonzaga scheduled on 12/5 and now I don’t think this is very likely.
maybe a more likely scenario is that with Tennessee having COVID issues of their own, we end up playing Gonzaga instead of Baylor on 12/2?
I've heard speculation that we could play the zags if ours and their games with Baylor get cancelled. No idea if there is any chance it actually happens, but it would be a great game."Oh we'll just replace this top-tier match up with another one. No biggie."
Looking back, amazing what can happen in just a few years, huh?
If we get the Zags, I hope Trent delivers the game winner. That would be poetic.
