I also recall there being something in the contract regarding ND having to join the ACC if they joined a conference at all. Probably some sort of liquid damages provision connected to that.</p><p></p><p>IMO, both the Big Ten and Notre Dame have known deep down the story ends with the two of them together for damn near 100 years, as much as neither party is really excited about it and more than that is desperate to appear to not want it.
