Blackhawks

Blues don't sell often so little new watching it unfold but all the pieces that were talked about are gone. Not sure if more moves will be made before the deadline but I look for them to move more this offseason if not.

I get the Kane thing kind of like Tarasenko. Tarasenko was traded early because they were afraid he might get hurt again and just walk away for free. Trade deadline being 3 days away with Kane holding out and only wanting to be on Rangers forced the hand. I think with those circumstances, Blackhawks rebuilding and Kane being 34 they made out pretty well. Definitely will be weird seeing Tarasenko and Kane together :ROFLMAO:

You aren't joking....Boston is scary!!! Not a Marchand fan so will hope for a team to get hot and knock them out

The Blues did really well by getting an early jump on the deadline deals. I get that Kane controlled the situation, but it's disappointing nonetheless to only get a 2nd and 4th for a player of Kane's stature, particularly compared to some of the other deals that have already happened this year (seriously Tampa, wut?)

Can't wait to watch the playoffs, particularly in the East. Boston is having an historic season, and yet other teams are trading multiple first- and second-round picks to go all in this year. It will be interesting to watch it all play out.

Ridiculously disappointing. But it is what it is.

Jumping on the Rags bandwagon, big time.

For Chicago sports fans, the draft order miracle Lovie handed to the Bears has been repaid.

If the Hawks are the 5th pick, which is now extremely possible, it was all for absolutely nothing.
Obviously getting the top pick would be big. The way the NHL lottery works you can’t get better than a 25% chance at the # 1 pick, so there’s only so much you can do. This team needed to be torn down and rebuilt regardless. Wherever Bedard ends up, I am pretty sure that team isn’t winning the next 10 Stanley Cups. Would be great to have him or a top three prospect in this draft but all is not lost if they pick at 5.

At the worst odds you are guaranteed a top 3 pick with the percentages below.....number 1 or 2 is not a guarantee either way

#1 25.5%

#2 18.8%

#3 55.7%

there's a big dropoff after #4 (and Michkov's going to stay in Russia for 3 years). maybe they'll get lucky, but I'd feel a helluva lot better if they finished last or second to last. but, hey, we beat the Bruins, right!

Actually it was the Penguins...not that it really matters.

This has become the worst run franchise in Chicago and that's saying a lot when you have two teams run by Jerry Reinsdorf. All they literally had to do was effectively lose two more games. Find a goalie out of the crowd and let him stand there for 60 minutes.

I don't think Gary Bettman would take very kindly to that...

It's not over yet. Now that Pens are eliminated they may rest guys against Columbus in their final game.

If the Hawks win tonight they move ahead of San Jose. No reason to compound the disaster from Tuesday with another win tonight.
Agreed that they won't not be trying as hard as if they needed a win. But what would they be resting for? The off-season?

They get a gift from Columbus and the do it again!!! Absolute clowns. They really are.
You can’t fault the players who are competing for their own money but it’s comical beyond belief.

If they end up with the 5th pick, what did this year actually accomplish? They could have at least been normal bad at that point and not literally unwatchable this season.

They have the fifth pick in this years draft (hopefully better). They also have the 20th pick in this years draft. They have 4 second round picks this year. They have two picks in the first round and second round next year. They will have massive amounts of cap space. Of course they would love to luck into that first pick or anywhere in the top three. This team needed to be stripped down and rebuilt. It’s painful to watch but they really had no choice. Conner Bedard isn’t winning the next 10 Stanley Cups. Would love to have him on the Hawks but all is not lost.
