Lots of people saying dumb stuff on hot mics this week. Oakland A's play by play announcer, Glen Kuiper, referred to the negro leagues with a hard "r" on Saturday.

Nope. Nope Nope. One does not accidentally say that word unless it’s part of his or her casual vocabulary. And just listening to this particular instance, there was no stumble or twist of the tongue. It was the word itself, front and center.

Perhaps. But there’s also zero chance he doesn’t casually use that word off the air regularly given how easily it slipped out of his mouth with no immediate embarrassment or attempt to correct himself. This was not a simple twist of the tongue over two words that sound similar.
