Bobby Bowden 'at peace' after being diagnosed with terminal medical condition
Bobby Bowden has been diagnosed with a terminal medical condition, with the former Florida State coach saying in a statement that he is "at peace."
I remember Bowden was scared of retirement…I believe because his mentor or another coach (Landry?) retired, then died soon after. Good to see he had quite some time to enjoy retirement.
Tried to find the quote/ info, but did not
According to an obit I read, he was good friends with Paterno. Also, "He returned to Howard as head coach in 1959 and began making Tuscaloosa treks to cull wisdom from his idol, Alabama’s Bryant, who had become the Crimson Tide coach a year earlier."Paterno?
Bryant didn't even live a month after he retired.
Must have been Bryant.According to an obit I read, he was good friends with Paterno. Also, "He returned to Howard as head coach in 1959 and began making Tuscaloosa treks to cull wisdom from his idol, Alabama’s Bryant, who had become the Crimson Tide coach a year earlier."
Both coaches died shorty after retirement.
