Chicago Bears 2024

Yeah, that wasn’t pretty. To be honest though I’m not expecting a lot from team this year. I see them finishing with similar record as last year. I’ll be happy if that happens and Caleb develops enough this year that I feel good about him being here/future compared to when Fields was here.

I just hope Caleb doesn’t get hurt so badly he can’t play. He got hit hard all game, especially the last few plays…

O-line stinks and Waldron has not helped so far. Good news is the Bears will have the Panthers 2nd round pick next year, which is looking like top of the 2nd round. Need to draft o-line help with the 1st round pick and one of the 2nd round picks. Need pass rush help with their own 2nd round pick.

they still stink

it’s going to take Williams a full season to adjust to the pros

The old adage: don't say anything unless you have something nice to say. I'll make an exception now.

Too early to tell, but it's shaping up to be a possible 1969 season. But I liked Bobby Douglass! Not his fault. Great running back.

Note to McCaskeys: PLEASE SELL YOUR TEAM TO REAL FOOTBALL PEOPLE!

Like real baseball people like the Ricketts. Phooey.

At this point they are a bad football team. I don't have a prediction for a turnaround. This season would be nice.

My expectations for this season were unrealistic. I thought they would compete for a playoff slot. I know there is a lot of season left but they are clearly the worst team in the NFC North. Yes I like to overstate the obvious.

They'll have to tank more than one year before DR becomes draft eligible. Arch Manning too.

it’s not just bad luck. the owners have tremendous influence over what happens down the food chain

Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about Good Corporate Leadership (comment: Like Owners!)...

“They promote and encourage respectful and meaningful relationships, fostering a collaborative environment.... Effective leaders possess good communication skills, conveying clarity and transparency, even in complex situations... They develop and adapt strategies to address diverse problems and scenarios, empowering employees to contribute to solutions... Leaders delegate tasks and responsibilities, allowing others to grow and develop, while focusing on high-priority areas... Good leaders recognize their strengths and weaknesses, taking action to improve and inspire others to do the same.

Empathy: They demonstrate genuine concern for employees’ well-being and show optimism, providing positive energy and reassurance during challenging times. Leaders articulate a clear company vision, aligning employees around a common goal and inspiring commitment... They remain flexible, adjusting to changing circumstances and embracing innovation.”
...

The Chicago Bears have had an ownership lineage that goes back a LONG time. (And now, so have the White Sox). Has Bears’ Ownership and Management (and the White Sox’) shown good communication skills? Have they promoted a meaningful environment with their organization and with their fiercely fan bases?
What have these Owners done in all those years to demonstrate that have any concern for fans -- their paying customers?

Have they effectively addressed their problems over the years? Have they hired well and let people in their organization grow and develop? Are they honest about their strengths and weaknesses and do they address them effectively? Do they show empathy for their organizational family – and importantly, for Bear fans around Chicagoland and the Nation?

Do they have a clear franchise vision? Are they flexible?

In the past 10 years... the Bears have finished over .500 just – once. (For the Sox, just twice). Just maybe The Owners had something to say about why Chicago fans are suffering so long?
