Like I said, I'm a Bulls fan again, woo!

How great has DeRozan been? He's been unreal. And how off were the so-called experts when ranking this year's free agent signings?

Not missing Gar/Pax.

To be fair, I think much of the negative blurbs/stories I saw were more referencing that Bulls overpaid him. But if that is what it took to stop him from going home to Los Angeles, still looks like money well spent. He has been great.

And if anyone is missing Gar/Pax, they might want to commit themselves for a 72-hour psychiatric hold.

In the ‘90s, the Chicago Bulls were mega rock stars. They created a buzz of electricity in every arena they played and they had the Greatest of All Time with the Bulls name proudly written across his chest. The Bulls became World famous which they remain to this day.

And now, a small amount of that magic has returned after a long absence. You can’t compare this team to the one in the ‘90s – that was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. But what you do hear is, ‘The Bulls are back’ around the sports world.

And in whatever year, when the Bulls are good and the big arena on West Madison Street is packed and rocking and the guys on the floor are playing like the Harlem Globetrotters... there’s just nothing like it.

And going back a bit further in years when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played for Milwaukee, the Bulls and Bucks had some epic battles. Jerry Sloan and Norm Van Lier and Bob Love and Chet Walker would not back down from anyone. And some of those battles were classics. And some of that magic is back with the Bucks being so good now.

The Bulls and the White Sox are the best bets in Chicago right now. All the other teams are down. Including the Fire.

And it’s fun to watch just how soon it will be before our Ayo becomes the new face of the Bulls.

Gar/Pax destroyed so much of my Bulls fan lifetime.

Bulls win in Denver, finishing the West Coast road trip 3-2. First win for the Bulls over the Nuggets since December 2016. First win over the Nuggets in Denver since February 2006.

And all this, without Vuc for the entire road trip.

Woo! Really liking this team: they play hard and are fun to watch. Donovan has a big man crush on Ayo and why not? Can Derrick Jones Jr. sky or what?

I’m really excited about this team. Scooped tickets for the game in Houston next week. They’re still going through some growing pains and will have more when Vuc comes back and they have to incorporate him again, but to be this good through those growing pains really gives hope for the long term this season.

Per the earlier DeRozan conversation, Stacey King pointed out in some early broadcasts that people thought he was washed because he didn’t score the same in San Antonio. To me, that’s a great teammate. To have the ability to still dominate some games in the way he’s doing this year, but to do pull that back and do what Pop wanted for DD’s role on those team shows buy in as a player. Makes it look like an even better signing.

And I’m not gonna lie, I had this conversation in class yesterday with some students, I was not a big Lonzo fan. But man he’s proven me wrong.

LaVine is doing pretty well for a guy with torn ligaments in his thumb (off hand, but still).
