I am to a quick look at the candidates just focusing on the external candidates on this. Forget about a Hail Mary hire, the way this played out for UCLA they will need to get 60 yards on a Statue of Liberty play. Brian Hartline- this is the only move that will seems like a 60 yard Statue of Liberty play to me PJ Fleck- Really?!? Don't make me laugh. Grubb- had to internet search him, he has already moved on to become the Seahawks OC. I would wait if I was him. Wilcox- Seems unusually loyal to Cal. In previous years his teams would have fit well into the "Big Ten West" meme but I think he picked some offensive that run more Big XII style offenses in the 2022-3 offseason (kicking and screaming btw). Doesn't win a ton, but Cal is a really difficult place to win lately. Barry Odom- His Mizzou record is very meh, but winning 9 games at UNLV is nothing to sneeze at. Aranda- This might be the most Big Ten West HC outside the B1G. Defensive savant but his team has some iffy offenses in an neighborhood where there are some explosive offenses. Also Baylor sources say that he is not good with NIL (and that alumni base would happily put money in the NIL kitty). Baylor fans love the man, but ar lukewarm at best about the coach. White- Is it too early to hire a Nebraska assistant to a big job?
