Interesting list.
Little surprised to see Mike brey anywhere on that list since they had a pretty solid year last year.

Also Chris Collins? They look pretty good this year and Seriously are they really gonna get someone better at northwestern?

If Collins can get them into the tourney for just the second time in their history, he is probably coaching himself into a better job elsewhere. Unless he is loving his life in Hoops Purgatory.

Interesting list.
They're totally going to fire Boeheim. Take your 1,000 wins, 10 conference titles, 5 Final Fours, and 1 National Championship and get out of here.

That said, he's 78. It's probably about time to call it a career.

Interesting list.
You heard it here first:

*Arizona State will fire Bobby Hurley and hire….wait for it…….John Beilein, could he have a better job? Absolutely… but he will decide the desert suits him in his advancing years. So healthy issues + missing the game =Arizona State

* Get rid of Fran? Who does the University of Todd Lickliter think they are all of a sudden? Fran has been amazing for them.
He’s a total butt. But, he’s a worthy adversary. Also, he’s from Philly. So, he ain’t no wuss. That almost makes for up for the fact his name is Fran. Lol
(You think Brad Yells Loud. Good-god you can hear Fran from Space.)
Just because he got Simmons-ed…Fran is still too good for Iowa. Fran Stays.

* Syracuse quietly asks…ahem…
(pressures )Boeheim…off the radar to step down…at the end of this year…or even about a year or two from now maybe. The powers that be, know that he IS? (WAS) Syracuse basketball but they also know he’s gotta go because it is becoming a parody. So he begrudgingly resigns, eventually………………..

* Georgetown has a similar situation with living legend and Dream-Teamer Pat Ewing.
There are those who want to be respectful and let him stay longer, because of who he is…Haven’t we already been respectful? (others ask) If he was anybody else he would have already been gone. Ewing was synonymous with 80s Big East glory-days…but he ain’t no Boeheim. (That’s darn near half a century of basketball that revolves directly around one man.) Besides, Georgetown is way more cutthroat that Syracuse…so they axe Patrick Ewing.

Interesting that UT reportedly reached out to Cal. He will always pull in talent but I think we’ve got a good body of work that says that he needs transcendent talent to win and even if he gets guys 80% as talented as John Wall/Boogie Cousins/AD etc he won’t. And with NIL/OTE/G league ignite etc, kids have more options than ever and I think the era of the one n done super teams is mostly over.

To Cal’s credit, he did adjust after a horrible 2020 and went to the portal to get some unlikely nba but good college players. But he was upset by a 15 seed and so far they lack a Q1 win and look more dysfunctional than us and could very well miss the tournament again.

Strictly speaking, now that NIL has somewhat negated the, ahem, advantage Cal used to play with, I think the game has passed him by.

It was actually a short run of 4 or 5 years that Cal's star studded one and done model had success. And as you said, with NIL it's possible Kentuckys advantage over others is limited.

Cal has played short term success into the next gig his entire career. But alas there is no next step up from Kentucky so it's gone on longer and he's getting exposed.

I'm so interested to hear more details behind this. Thought Cal would be at UK until either he retires or UK gets rid of him.

Less pressure at Texas?

Who would UK go after...

UK is not happy with the last 2 years or this year ... 3 years is to many down years at UK ...

Texas might be less pressure but it's brand new arena, great boosters, maintain relationship with Nike, less insane fans, way better weather ... Texas can also guarantee that he has enough NIL to recruit just like he was at UK and get kids like Wagner, Edwards, and Bradshaw ...

UK short list is real simple if Cal goes ... I was told 4 names: Sean Miller, Nate Oats, Eric Musselman, Dennis Gates
