yea, Ive never been a fan, but mostly because he always seems to have a "woe is me" or sad expression on his face when playing us
he never seems happy to me.

The Score says $40 million for 5 years.

So can we agree that we have the best mid-market manager? Hopefully the strategy isn't to see if he can get a team with a mid-market payroll over the hump, but who would be shocked? Go for it Cubbies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think you make a guy the highest paid manager in baseball and then cry cheap when you put together your roster. I think the Cubs will spend.

Honestly I've been hoping to someday get Counsell but I never thought it would happen.
I like Ross, but he doesn't like to play the young guys, and we need to develop and use our
farm system.

Traded Hernandez for Dick Ruthven and Bill Johnson who pitched 17 innings in the majors. Willy had 3 consecutive all-star appearances, Cy Young, and MVP for Detroit. Looked at Ruthven's Cubs stats, pretty meh
Pretty typical for our Cubbies.

Phillies didn’t exactly get gold from Hernandez either. After an outstanding 3/4 of a year with them, they traded Hernandez and Dave Bergman (LHH 1B and PH who was with the Tigers for 9 seasons) for four years of Glenn Wilson (light hitting right fielder who made 1 ASG) and the last two seasons of John Wockenfuss’ career (backup C with a decent bat).
