Dee Brown ready to get back into coaching

Going to have to make smarter decisions if he wants to stick w/ a college program next time around. I'm sure he will.

Have the details of the reasons for his sudden departure from the Illinois staff been made public?

I am one of the clueless on here who do not know the story. I respect the privacy of Dee and the University of Illinois.

A few questions I have, is there any opportunity for redemption down the line? Is a second chance even up for discussion? Is it best (permanently v. temporarily) that both parties remain apart?

Dan, I am hoping I am asking in a respectful enough manner, with sensitivities to both sides. If you feel these questions are inappropriate, please delete with my humble apologies.

Meh I think there will be another opportunity that presents itself.. Consider a program like Louisville gets strippers or Jerrance Howard gets caught with weed...

But there will definitely have to be a time gap he can point to where he's grown up a bit and won't make the same mistake twice. Trust me it sounds like he did something terrible (and I'm not saying what he did was fine) but it's something a lot of guys would fall to the temptation of.

I'm surprised how close to the cuff this has been kept. Impressive. Maybe to save quite a bit of additional embarrassment from multiple parties.

Some obvious odd timing on this revelation and it wouldn't shock me to see Dee return to coaching in some capacity close to home in the near-future.

I'm always uncomfortable in these threads as unsubstantiated opinions and second hand (at best) accounts progressively leak out. I would be surprised if he wasn't back in some capacity and sooner rather than later.

Similar feelings here and the KS trip taken a few weeks ago was probably a step to getting back in the coaching arena at some point.

I wish someone would just tell us all what happened here.

The reason nobody will is a result of the tremendous respect for Dee and what he's meant to the Illinois program over the years. He earned that much so just gonna let it lie.

I don't believe Dee was arrested and resigned. He will get another chance and hopefully now realizes the fish bowl / microscope they put themselves into with positions they apply for.

I was sitting one day in the office of a major college coach and with one of his best friends after a game. We tried to get him to go have a few beers with us. He shook his finger at us and said he wasn't going anywhere with us !!

This is the lifestyle they must maintain ....

Was it Larry Eustachy lol
