Friends/Followers- I know you haven't heard from me in a while. I've been dealing with some personal issues that have weighed heavily on me.

After much thought, I've made the tough decision to leave my position. I will always have love for my school and basketball program.

I have grown so close to the coaches and players and want nothing more than to see them have a successful season.

I hope everyone understands this can be a difficult time for my family right now. We thank you in advance for respecting our privacy.

I hope everything is alright with him. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but this is terrible news.

I'm hoping that this is not a medical issue. If so, one would think he would remain employed and continue insurance coverage through his position at U of I.

I've heard he has a medical issue, but I can't post it, obviously, because of privacy issues and the possibility my source may be wrong.

Man, obviously there's the 'what's going on with him' questions that will linger, but who cares... this sounds like a legit 'We need to pray for Dee and his family' type of situation. Hope he's okay...

This sucks for Illinois and it sucks for Dee.

Here's to hoping he can get whatever's bothering him taken care of, regardless of whether or not it means he resumes a role with the O&B.

I just hope he and his family are alright. I read a tweet initially with a selfish mindset of what does this mean to the Illini. I then read the rest of the tweets and started to worry a little bit about some deeper problems that could be going on. Prayers for Dee.

I propose we not dig or concern ourselves with the reason, and instead focus on the outcome - positive resolution to whichever issues are plaguing Dee (and family if that is the case). We all have the utmost respect for Dee, let's demonstrate that by not prying.

Dee has provided us with a ton of hope, joy and encouragement over the years.

It's now time for us to give some of that back to him in his time of need.
