English Premier League 2021/22

Nottingham Forest wins the EFL Championship play-off final 0:1. Lone goal in the match was on an own goal late in the 1st half by Levi Colwill. First time since 1990 that lone goal in the final was scored on an own goal (though I doubt Forest has the same issues that Swindon Town did back then).

Nottingham Forest is also the first team to be at bottom of the table after 8 matches and earn promotion to the Premier League.

With Champions League, Spurs will need much more squad depth than they currently have. They will bring in at least one top center half, which will push Davies to a reserve roll. Conte doesn't seem sold on any of the wing backs (though Doherty was playing great before he was injured), so I wouldn't be surprised to see Reguilon sold this summer and new faces brought in on both sides. One could be Ivan Perisic, who has played under Conte before and would slot right in on the left side. Speaking of players that have played for Conte, I'd love to see Christian Eriksen return. He looked good at Brentford and would be a creative spark they have been missing since he left. Beyond that, another box-to-box midfielder would be nice. I'd like to see someone like Weston McKennie added.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. He's the only player in the Prem that dives more than Mo Salah. Spurs need depth, but is he willing to come in as a backup?

It's also worth noting that the FA requested that the Premier League schedule no derby matches or matches between the Big Six on the final weekend before the World Cup break and the Premier League honored that request.

World Cup break ends on Boxing Day.

Manchester City and Liverpool will play in the Community Shield on July 30th. This year it will be played at King Power Stadium as Wembley is hosting the women's Euro 2022 final on July 31.

Merseyside Derby dates are September 3rd (Goodison Park) and February 11th (Anfield).

I hope that whoever they get to replace him is good because the offense basically became a slog when he was out with injury the past few seasons.

In other USMNT/Premier League news, it looks like Zack Steffen is gonna join Middlesbrough on loan through the upcoming season.

To the Spurs supporters on here...

I hope you'll enjoy Richarlison as it sounds like he'll be a back-up to Harry Kane.

There will be times that you'll love Richarlison and other times where he'll just frustrate the heck out of ya. I know a lot of opposing fans (which has been brought up on here) seem to dislike how much he dives in matches too.

I will be interested to see what kind of squad Lampard can bring together with the money they got from Spurs for Richarlison.

Actually, what I am hearing is there will essentially be 4 players (Son, Kane, Kulu, Richarlison) for 3 positions. The versatility of Richarlison will allow him to slot in anywhere across the front 3 and keep the squad fresh.
