I followed EPL for the first time last season, motivated by years of watching USMNT games and the amazing finish in May '14. I am really looking forward to this season, learning more about things, and becoming somewhat less "nooby". What a great way to start the day on the weekend.

Yep. Although once college football season starts, I will admit that I don't watch as much as I should or could.

I'll be sure to try and post the matches that will be airing on the NBC networks before each weekend.

What a crazy season this is shaping up to be. And there will probably be a big signing or two still to come. Cmon Chelsea! Let's win the treble.

After falling 2-0 to Real Madrid yesterday, Tottenham beat AC Milan 2-0 today in the 3rd place game of the Audi Cup. Bring on the Premier League season. COYS!!

I hope Tottenham has a good plan for Deandre Yedlin. He's so incredibly fast, but still pretty raw. I was hoping they would loan him out by now. Just don't want to see another young American make the move to Europe then get stuck and never develop.

At this point all he has is speed. He gets muscled off the ball way too easily. He really needs a loan to a bottom-of-the-table team, because he's not ready to play regularly for Spurs. Unfortunately, for him, Spurs have several young players who have come through their academy who are already more advanced than him. So - he's gonna have a hard time getting minutes.

Any predictions on who finishes top 4? Bottom 3? Do Bournemouth, Watford, and Norwich City all stay up for another season or do they all get relegated back down to the Football League Championship?

i personally don't rate norwich very highly. bournemouth has a great midfielder in ritchie so it'll be interesting to see how he does. i think they may have the best chance at staying up. watford will probably drop. leicester and sunderland are pretty underwhelming as well.

at the top, there will probably be arsenal and chelsea with the manchester clubs close behind. i think both manchester clubs need to improve their defence. tottenham and liverpool don't seem to have improved much. but there are always surprises!

Spurs biggest issue last season was the back 4. Part of that was due to Walker being injured most of the year, which caused several guys to be played out of position. It remains to be seen whether Walker will ever be 100%, but he's at least playing. They brought in Trippier just in case and he's been shining in pre-season (had 2 assists yesterday vs. Milan). Also, they signed Toby Alderweireld, who is Vertonghen's CB partner on the Belgian national team.

If they can manage to sign Berahino and Werner (both are rumored to be very close) before the window closes, I wouldn't be surprised to see them grab a Champions League spot.

Not sure where to post this, so I figured here was as good as anywhere. Look what Nike came up with for the new US Soccer logo:

Looks kinda familiar :shield:

that is so much better than what the national teams are using now for a crest.

I am pleasantly surprised at how eager I am for EPL, this being only my second season as a follower. I still have most of the steep learning curve in front me but that is a major part of the enjoyment. And I love the weekend start times. I am beginning to think that this is better than NFL. So far the only drawback is sacrificing solitude on walks as I never walk alone any more.
