- Planet Earth, when not battling Ming the Merciless
On vacation this week. Will catch up when I return. ☀
Maybe a Doctorate?Does this mean an 11th year of eligibility for Tyler?
The article seems to say:and now I've just realized what I said means that the scholarship grid is correct and doesn't need to be changed. Carry on.
(This row won't be needed) | 20-21 | 21-22 | 22-23 | 23-24 | 24-25 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
CV Scholarship #1 | Da'Monte Williams | Ayo Dosunmu | Kofi Cockburn | Ben Bosmans-Verdonk | |
CV Scholarship #2 | Trent Frazier | Giorgi Bezhanishvili | Jermaine Hamlin | ||
CV Scholarship #3 | Austin Hutcherson | ||||
CV Scholarship #4 | Jacob Grandison |
The article seems to say:
1) Anyone on the team last year now has an extra year of eligibility.
2) The use of that extra year does not count against the scholarship limits.
Proposal: Add the following rows after the 13 scholarships and before the walk-ons. This should keep tracking the available scholarships in the main grid clean.
Enjoy your vacation. Thanks for the change to gray out those for whom we are out of the running.

The twitter clarifies that the extra year scholarships will count against the limits except in 2021-2022. Thus the extra roster spots only exist for Trent and Da'Monte.
Yes, that's correct.The twitter clarifies that the extra year scholarships will count against the limits except in 2021-2022. Thus the extra roster spots only exist for Trent and Da'Monte.
Not sure what you mean. If it applied for 2020-21, that would mean Kipper and Feliz could return for an extra year without counting against the 13, which is not the case.This seems a bit odd. I'd expect it to apply in 2020-21 as well. I wonder if this is a typo. I could not find the text of the actual rules change.
This implies the same thing, that it's based on last year's class, which again would imply that Kipper and Feliz are allowed a 5th year, along with Cassius Winston, Lamar Stevens, Reggie Corbin, etc.Also in response to Alma 19, the incoming freshmen weren't winter sport athletes last season so it wouldn't apply. The wording means freshmen last season.

Feliz shoulda been given another chance...The twitter clarifies that the extra year scholarships will count against the limits except in 2021-2022. Thus the extra roster spots only exist for Trent and Da'Monte.

Bediako released his top 5 list Oct 10th. It did not include Illinois.Actually, I haven't done that yet. Anybody have names that need to be grayed out?
Even if rosters are expanded it will put coaching staffs in difficult positions...returning players will expect to start or play similar roles as previously....while incoming freshmen or freshmen turning sophomores will expect playing time that will likely be blocked somewhat by the returning players.....a player that hung around as a freshmen or sophomore expecting an increased role may decide it would be in their best interest to transferSince everyone gets an extra year if they want it, I wonder how the staff will handle that? Seems like it would look bad to not let guys return. I suppose it depends on whether the NCAA allows rosters to expand (which they should) to accomodate the players who stay.
Missed him somehow. He is on 247's list of Illini offers.Was going to say Mustapha Amzil to Dayton but I don’t see him on the list. Never mind then!
Doesn't matter now. Mustapha who??Missed him somehow. He is on 247's list of Illini offers.
