Record:
5-7
12-0

A few notes:
- I think if Kansas, Purdue, and Minnesota were home games, I'd put those on the win side.
- If any of those teams I predict losses to are even the tiniest bit worse than I'm envisioning, I think we can win them all. It's weird how "eh" I feel about any of the teams on our schedule (even Penn State)... but also how "eh" I feel about Illinois being "comfortably" better than any of them either (except Northwestern)
- Likewise, if Illinois is even the tiniest better than I am envisioning, we could truthfully go 12-0 with this schedule. And I 100% mean that.

So, let's average and give the ol' Illinois Orange Kool-aid rounded up value: 9-3

What a weird time to be an Illinois fan.

Looks like I’m right with everyone else. 8-4 with a +/- of 1 depending on Altmyers ability to move the offense without turning it over.

We will be in a gunfight with Penn State, Maryland and Iowa. But we are not hopelessly out gunned in any of them. I can see us winning the other 9 . So I will predict a 9 win season or more.

Im way more concerned about Maryland than I am Iowa.

it would be cool to set up a type of "confidence" pool, but instead of weekly, we have to put our 12, 11,....2, and 1 points down before Saturday nite on our entire schedule. I'm guessing Fla Atl / or / NW would be everyones 12. Very interesting to see how many points people would throw out against our first two opponents.
I like this. I'll play:
6 Toledo
4 at Kansas
1 Penn State
11 Florida Atlantic
9 at Purdue
8 Nebraska
3 at Maryland
7 Wisconsin
5 at Minnesota
10 Indiana
2 at Iowa
12 Northwestern

Robert’s SOC is a sobering reminder that seasons don’t always go as well as planned:

Season record prediction: 6-6

Love the vibes on this forum for the start of a season. Any group of people who make me feel like the pessimist is my kind of people. My gut is telling me 7-5, but I’m struggling to mark five probable losses on the schedule. My heart won’t let me do it, which brings me to 8-4.

I’m conditioned by the last 30 years of disappointments to say 5-7, but I think we finally have the right staff in place to break that awful trend. 7-5 it is.

Really I just want to be relevant for this last season where college football resembles the game we know and love
