Maybe the conversation should be Morez-Tomi instead. I think both team won out on the Morez-Mirk acquistion.
Totally get what you’re saying and I agree. Just referencing the predominant talking head debate leading up to this game.

I’m all for bringing in some high caliber Euros…but Brad, for the love of Chief Illiniwek, bring us an f’n Chicago-style junk yard dog. Any doubts on who won the Morez-Mirk trade are put to bed after tonight…and I love Mirk.
You think Brad had a choice on the CPL dog category?

Love Keaton … But he’s not going to get any calls if he doesn’t sell it better …

Kid is tough as 💩 but if he sold it a little more … He’d have 6 more FTs a game … Minimum …
Doesn't help that we stop running baseline cuts to give a lob threat. Can't give any hard screens in the backcourt. We almost never find ways to make it easier on him

We are a good team but can’t compete with the top 5 teams. Especially those with good front line players

Michigan just at another level. Can get what they want, where they want. Dominant performance. Never felt game was in doubt at any point. Just a loaded deep team on both ends. Cason and McKenney would be starting on most every other team in America

Guys - I think we need to calm down on the coaching criticism. 3 grown !!! men in Mara, Morez, and Yaxel bullied us out of this game. Plain and simple athletic basketball.

I called out the Illini do not pass the looktest of a championship caliber team. And someone made a snarky cognitive bias comment. Well well well...

Cognitive bias.

Teams are going in to the game with a “bully Illinois” strategy. It works. If we shout and rebound we can’t hang against the strategy. If not, toast
I'm pretty sure that once Morez bailed, this was a universally known thing. Against these athletic teams, it's hit the long ball or bust.

To be fair, they backhanded us no differently than they did MSU or Purdue.

and preferably a Chicago-style junk yard dog who doesn't quit on his team.

I never saw this coming. I really thought they would at least keep it close
This was always a possibility if Michigan got their offense rolling, in which case we do not have the ability to stop them. We had to hit shots all night and keep turns and fouls low....and the opposite happened. They have rolled to many huge win margins over some good teams when they get rolling.

Probably in the minority here but I'm glad that morez showed out. He got screwed over so much last year for playing time and his year 2 is amazing.
