The 24 hour fever dream was fun while it lasted.

WHAT ???.......Rutgers ?????????????

I'll admit that I'm a little salty. Mostly because Rutgers was rumored to not be interested and next thing you know they are playing. I do hope Rutgers takes full advantage of this opportunity though. Watching a 5-7 B1G team we should've beat win against the ACC runner ups would be hilarious.

Loved it. Happy for Ragrets, too, since their fans don't get a lot to cheer about, (and they earned it). But I would have loved that game for our guys.
Me too, but...
Going to a bowl is what all players want, but it seems to me like too much chance of kids becoming injured because they are not in "game shape", for only a week's worth of extra practice (for kids who can even make it back quickly). And I suspect the game itself will very quickly turn into a rout

I feel good about next season assuming we get a few more key pieces from the portal

Hawii just pulled out of the Hawaii Bowl against Memphis. Looks like that game will cancel. Personally, I think its stupid to stop practicing after your last game. Teams could use that time to get better for next year. I wish the NCAA will look into that rule.

I think the game could've been pushed back if Memphis hadn't already flown all the way to Hawaii for the game. The ncaa has apparently given bowls permission to push games back to as late as January 10th

I guess ESPN really wanted a Big Ten team over Memphis for the Gator Bowl.

I don't mind anything that has happened. I like BB shooting his shot....all about getting the program exposure.

Being realistic....we would have gotten steamrolled. Playing a team with a huge offense and our points per game is hard to watch even with full practice time. Throw 4 weeks with no practice time into the mix and Rutgers beating us.....I am not losing any sleep on the matter of how things fell into place.

Remember that the Illini practiced after their final game, so they've worked out in pads more recently than most 5-7 teams. Coach B said "We asked and nobody said we couldn't, so we did."

They were only allowed to practice until the B1G championship game.
