I applied to various social work programs for a masters and found out that UIUC accepted me yesterday for their online/distance program. It's either this or UIC's full-time. It's good news, but I need to make a decision between the two.

I guess it depends on what else is going on in your life. I know someone who elected to do her Masters in ABA/Autism through an online course rather then in a classroom. It allows her to work nearly full time and travel a little bit. She's almost able to pay as she goes and won't have a huge loan at the end. Of course that route takes a bit longer and when work is busy AND she has schoolwork due it can be very strenuous and allows little time for anything else.

I just clicked on the "Accept" button on the online admission acceptance page. That was a little nerve wracking. Now I need to find out how I'm gonna pay for this degree!

Nerve-racking.

Yikes. :(

I'm entering a masters program and I can't get the expression right.

Haha, same here. Today I learned! How's your program going?

It's going pretty well. I'm about halfway done overall and almost completely done with classes, so it feels a lot closer to a 9 to 5 research job than an undergrad schedule. Of course, there are perks like getting to take voice lessons and music classes on the side with Stanford faculty, so I love it!

Happy to hear it!

I've got about 2 years of class and practice left, along with my dissertation, but I'm loving it. Remind me in 2 years if I'm still feeling the same. Haha.

I'm quite confident I can coach elementary/grade school level. Anything beyond that is asking too much of me. :D

I think we might be on to something here. You're just as qualified... Never mind.

Don't sweat it, I'm in a PhD program and I thought it was "nerve-wracking" too :thumb:

It's because nerve-wracking makes more sense. It's how I've always used it.

HOWEVER, because nerve-racking was the original expression... we're wrong. Or rong.
