Recently moved to Springfield. Anyone know of any good Illini bars in the area? I know Springfield is a big alumni area for the Illini.

Utter tragedies, both.
A clean Kams? What's the damn point of that?
I (sorta) remember nights where if the smell wasn't there, I wouldn't have known where I was.

Firehaus is the one I'll miss the most. I think I stepped in Kam's maybe twice the entire 13 years I lived in C-U, the smell and stickiness kept me from going there more. Firehaus was a cool place, though, and was fun even back when it was R&R's.Never much cared for Kams, but the smell was iconic. Pretty upset about Cly's closing though, had some good times there in undergrad. Though it hasn't been the same without the dance floor.
R&R's! Man we won a lot of money in there playing darts. Which was good because we could only drink what we won as we really didn't have any money. I don't miss the places but I do miss the friends. My brother opened the bar in 1977. 1 block from the Capital building on Monroe street. Dad had season tickets for thirty years, and i’m going on 12 years. Hope to see my beloved Illini back to relevancy before I crook.I live in Springfield for almost 13 years (just moved to St. Louis 2 months ago). How had I never heard of this place?!
