Illini Baseball

"The Big Ten has announced the 2021 baseball schedule, which includes 44 conference-only games for each team and begins on Friday, March 5."

from that write up :
Illinois will open up the season with back-to-back weekends at neutral sites. The weekend of March 5-7, the Illini will travel to Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. and face Ohio State in a four-game series. The following weekend of March 12-14 will include a trip to Minneapolis, Minn. to play at U.S. Bank Stadium against Minnesota in a four-game series.

to be accurate, US Bank Stadium is where Minny plays all their early season baseball games. hardly a neutral site , but its a goofy season and doesn't mean all that much other than for the players to play real games.

Give The OSU a pounding in both baseball and basketball this weekend.

What's the report on 2021 Illini baseball: good, mediocre, what?

Crazy thought: I bet Curbelo could be a great shortstop, second baseman, center fielder if he has a baseball arm.

GO ILLINI baseball! One of best all-time unis: pinstripes, sleeveless jerseys. Navy blue, baby.

I will never forget that 27-game winning streak only six years ago.

Baseball America has them pegged for 6th in the B1G. They have Maldonado (P), Campbell (C), Hoffmann (P) and Comia (SS) in their top 20 prospects in the conference

Thanks. Got to get me down to Illinois Field to watch Illini play my favorite sport.

But "ILLINOIS FIELD" is so generic. Why not Boudreau or Holtzman field? C'mon.

Funny: just got an alert that third stimulus check may be coming! In that case, I would be part of a consortium to rename Illinois Field.

Kenny Boudreau or Lou Holtzman park or Boudreau-Holtzman Stadium. Since I donated the bucks, I would insist on Illinois baseball honoring me by calling third base "Illiniu's Folly"!

I love it: donate millions and you get to eradicate someone else's name from history. Dyche Stadium, case in point. Spend a lot of money and you get to immortalize yourself like a pharaoh. I would gladly donate the bucks if only I could have played third base like Ron Santo. Don't need a pyramid. Well, maybe a small one.

GO ILLINI and - Anthony Rizzo for president! (Watching Cubs-Indians right now).

Lou (?) Boudreau? He was also a very good basketball player for the Illini. Teamed up with Harry Combes to win a Big Ten title in 1937.
