does this gravitation towards Lovie and players rather than the shield or any other re-branding sort of symbol in these posters have anything to do with the fact that we ended our contract with the consultant who had previously been working on rebranding?? in other words, are we making any progress on rebranding in terms of unis and apparels other than the shield and the more rigorous use of an "I"? hope my question makes some sense.

Who is/was this 'consultant' you speak of? I wasn't aware there was anyone other than UI and Nike involved.

Lol, just stating my opinion man! Needs more Lasagna on a plate!

All kidding aside, they just don't do it for me w/ the awkward body poses other than Smoot's. I want Fighting Illini splashed over it, and the actual schedule to have more prominence!

I agree. Schedule posters which relegate the schedule to an afterthought are annoying. Also, having a bunch of different ones kinda defeats the purpose of the brand building you want with these, where you see the same thing in every shop window and dorm room. And that camera angle was probably some fine stunt work on the part of the design team, but it isn't really an interesting vantage point. And I have mixed feelings about "Oskee Wow Wow". And honestly, everyone will want the Lovie one. He is the star. He is the marketable presence.

None of this matters at all of course.

What poster has the schedule in a place thats not an after thought. They are all after thoughts. 99% of the time when we design a poster, we design the whole thing, and then lastly put the schedule on there. Its more a function of "having it on there" then it is used to actually display the schedule.

Also, Lovies is the only one i dont want. Lunt, Vaughn, and Smoot are much more visually interesting to me. Framing them as soon as i get them.

I wish we would go back to doing game posters for home games, I always thought those were great. Someone has started doing these for the Columbus Blue Jackets and they are fantastic- would love to be able to do something like this for football games again. Here are a couple examples:

Forgive me for posting this image, but you asked

Total after thought. I know this cause it was my job to design the schedule as an intern.

But again these are all opinions. I love the poster. I think its an AMAZING point of view, love the orange, love the Oskee. These are my favorite football posters Illinois has ever done. Including the 3 that I did. They transcend posters and are legit art.

Some Ohio State site did my favorite one ever of those for college football:
