He had a bogey during his first round, but still very consistent. What was impressive about yesterday's round is that he followed each of those bogeys with a birdie. He has been doing that on the Korn Ferry all year. Not going crazy low when in position to win but not allowing the rounds to get away from him either. He has shown a ton of mental toughness and looks like a grinder. I think, if he gets there this year, he could have a long run on the tour. This is a Monday qualifier run and that is impressive. A top 20 would be huge from a fiscal standpoint. With his solid play on the korn ferry, sitting 15th, he is in very good shape to to be one of the top 25. He missed the top 10 which granted some options for PGA Tour events though limited. Making a good check will easy some of the worry for this season. And, unless it has changed recently, a top 10 gets him into next week. Which would be huge. The Korn Ferry doesn't start back up until mid-February so this is all gravy for Nick.
