A really bad article on the Indiana VB program: Culture of Fear
In this day and age it is amazing coaches think they can bully players. I trust Tamas and his assistants (including Krista VanSant, who appears to have escaped the Indiana program) have figured out how to positively motivate players, without berating or body-shaming. A recent VanSant instagram video post makes it appear she is having a good time with the players. Let's hope so.

Looks like only one weekend aligns a home football game with volleyball. 11/5 MSU w/ 11/4 Wisky or 11/6 Gophers.

And if a glutton for punishment, road trip to Madison for 10/1 & 10/2 combo.

We've also got Thursday Night Football (after all, who has class on Fridays?) with Chattanooga on 9/22, and then VB against Maryland and Northwestern on 9/23 and 9/24.

And we could still pick up home VB matches the weekend FB plays Virginia when the VB non-con is announced. I doubt we'll get any volleyball scheduled on the Wyoming weekend.

While our official schedule hasn't been released yet, all of our non-con opponents have released theirs and the unofficial schedule has been posted on VolleyTalk

The Illini's first home game won't be until the Maryland game on 9/23. The first 4 weeks will be spent traveling to invitationals.

Any insight from the volleyball folks on how the team is shaping up for this year? better or worse than last year? How should they fare in-conference?

If I had to guess, probably similar. We return most of last year’s starters but lose two key pieces in Cooney and Kuper. Would watch for Raina Terry to have a monster season after how she performed in the NCAA tournament last year.

Someone on another site thought some work is being done at Huff and it won’t be ready during the pre-season.
Could be, I suppose. I believe the work has been planned for months and is mostly cosmetic - painting, locker room upgrade and the like. They are installing a new scoreboard which is long overdue but that arrived weeks ago. The new golf, baseball, softball and practice basketball facilities were much bigger projects and are on schedule to be ready when their respective seasons kick off.
