So hard to find much info on WBB recruits. While looking for info on Hayven Smith I did find one service that had our current recruit and resent signer Cori Allen as the #77 ranked for 2023. In my opinion for previous years often after the top 20 or so in WBB the next 50-70 are usually close in talent. Often depends on the coach and if she can develop it, use it in her system. Coach Green has a history that shows she does that. Feeling good about the future.

Here is one Top 100 list for girls. Shows about a dozen going to B10 schools (none to Illinois). 8 or 9 on the list are from Illinois high schools but all are going elsewhere. Green is going to have a huge hill to climb. Fortunately, the portal makes that climb a little more possible.

Idk how difficult it will be to get to the top tier of the B10, but I feel like we can achieve middle of the pack fairly quickly. This group of coaches do know how to recruit and our new facilities and NIL will hopefully attract some attention from a higher level talent pool.

Awesome!! This is so nice to see. I know it is not the Big 10, but the Big 10 better get ready in years to come. We have this going in the right direction.

With the elementary school kids there the crowd was 8,100. Way to go ladies!

Those kids were the stars!

Love watching this team with their guard play but that might be the sloppiest 100 point game I’ve ever seen. Clean things up and this team could be dangerous.

Kudos to them for totally dismantling Mcneese State.

Have we ever had both men and women score 100 points in the same week?

When is the last time we've had 6 women in double digits and all 13 score? I understand the level of competition, but still, that's incredible. Obviously, we'll have to see how things go once we start B1G play, but inarguably, Coach Green has the team buying in.

The WBB team is beginning a complete revival of a long time dormant period........This is the best I have felt about the ladies team in such a long time.....Go Ladies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seeing those kids be so excited about being at the game makes me incredibly happy. Hopefully, we made a whole bunch of new Illini fans. And who knows, maybe it'll inspire one of them to come play for us one day.

EIU does one of these games every year too. Normally it's weeks like the upcoming holiday week where most of the students are home on break so they have a Kid's Day game for the local grade school and junior high school kids to attend.

Good news: They are clearly not the worst major team in D1 this season, so significant improvement.

Bad news: They still haven't played a major opponent yet, or even someone arguably as good as any B1G team, so it'll be interesting to see how they perform in a tight game against a quality team.

Delaware tomorrow (another medium level team) before a game at Pitt next week that should be a major step up in opponent quality, then B1G play starts with their toughest game of the season. About to get very tough very quickly.

They won 7 games last year - only one in conference. They should be able to top that. The year before that was 5 wins overall and 2 in conference. Lots of ground to make up.
