You and others might watch reactions on the bench more than I do, but I really didn’t notice him sulking and pouting. Sure maybe frustrated when he was pulled, but that could be as much frustrated in himself for his play that led to him being pulled as it was frustrated in being pulled. I can guarantee you that he will make other silly plays — he’s still learning. I think Hawk will be fine. I think his play late in last game showed something. Yes, he’ll have hiccups, but he’ll be an important contributor moving forward this year. Will he eventually transfer? I have no idea but I hope not. I’ve brought this up recently, and it isn’t aimed at you, but I think some posters get carried away assessing players and predicting their futures. And then when the players don’t reach that, some of those same posters put it on the players. Much of the hype around Hawk going into this season was ridiculous considering he had played less than 160 minutes and hadn’t started a game. Then he has 3 good games and people are ready to vote him first team all-conference. Yes, he has some great physical tools, but let the kid play and grow before labeling him a star or a failure. Again, this isn’t aimed at you pruman. Sad thing is I see the hype surrounding RJ getting ready to have the same kind of trajectory as the Hawk hype. After 70 minutes of college ball and a good game against a bad team in mop up time, I saw one poster predicting a Keegan Murray type jump for RJ next year. Well at least people are giving him until next year and not predicting it for second half of this season.
