Had the chance to meet all of team at Body n' Sole on Sunday. I took my daughter, we're about an hour away, she's in 8th grade and opted not to play basketball this year but had played in the past few years in school and on a travel team - she's still plays travel softball as well as softball, volleyball and track in school. She keeps a chair in the hallway closet and drags it down to my desk when the Illini are on - means the world to me! so I thought it would be neat for her to get to see some players up close. I don't know if you're actually a parent, good for you if you are and you come here and potentially face all the irrational criticism your son might receive and keep a level head about it - but I mention the meeting Sunday because I was a college male once, played baseball so I relate (a little) to being an athlete and the peer group mentality that comes with being on a team. My parents, in my opinion, did a great job raising me, but the entirety of the group was respectful, made eye contact with everyone that came through, and while we waited for the line to start filtering through I didn't hear one inappropriate comment or anything I would have been embarrassed to have my daughter hear. I don't feel confident that I would have conducted myself the same at that age! Kudos to all of them, and the people who raised them.
