#19 is a fair spot to be in. We’re running smooth right now, but still have to keep showing out in conference to make up for a mediocre at best non-con.
Miami and Miz are sitting at the bottom of their conferences, and Zona (who crushed us) dropped out of the top 25. Numbers aren’t important right now anyways until you’re approaching the conference tourneys. I just hope we’re not getting hot too early, and slump towards the end of the season.

As the B10 teams have slid down in the top 25, it becomes more difficult to rise in the polls. Beating Purdue and Michigan were impressive, but neither is currently ranked, so expecting more than a couple spot bump is not likely.

19 is fair, I just think we're better than Iowa and should jump them this week. I don't think the Iowa game is the loss that many are chalking it up to be. This is the same Iowa team that lost to DePaul in Iowa City and Nebraska a couple games ago. If you can shut down garza, like Nebraska did, they are beatable.Their recent stretch is mainly due to the fact that is seems no team not named Illinois can win a road game. But we have, if we can stomp Purdue at Mackey, we can win in Iowa City. It's going to be tough but I think this team can do it especially with a hungry AG coming back and definitely playing with a chip on his shoulder.

Alright, folks. We still trail Purdue, but we can definitely (RE-)pass them this year if the boys keep it up! Here are the totals, some of which might surprise some folks:

1. Purdue - .640
2. Illinois - .639
3. Indiana - .636
4. Ohio State - .613
5. Michigan State - .612
6. Michigan - .608
7. Maryland - .603
8. Iowa - .586
9. Minnesota - .575
10. Wisconsin - .571
11. Penn State - .556
12. Nebraska - .525
13. Rutgers - .508
14. Northwestern - .417

I am pretty astute to "program histories," so I am well aware of things like OSU being a feast or famine program, Wisconsin starting its winning ways quite recently, Iowa actually having a pretty good history in the regular season, etc. However, I had a few thoughts:

- I am shocked that Maryland is seventh ... I would have pegged them as being above Michigan and MSU and likely OSU. Maybe I am not as aware of their distant history due to them being an ACC program historically.
- It is pretty surprising that Minnesota is still above Wisconsin ... that really speaks to how bad UW was for most of the league's existence.
- I actually thought OSU would be lower, and - IIRC from one of our records books around 2007 that I got back in the day - they used to be. That shows the job Matta did with them.
- NU below .500, LMAO.

Need to beat Iowa to pass them and that will be a tough win. We will not be favored.
However....Wisconsin had them on the ropes last night. Think that bodes well for us.

It comes down to Iowa's 3 point shooting. They were 4-33 against Nebraska and were 3-20 last night.

Aside from Northwestern and Purdue, we've been doing better on 3pt defense. Hopefully it carries over to Iowa. I just have nightmares about the last (seemingly) few times we've played the Hawkeyes- they always seem to light is up from 3

I agree. It seems like they haven't missed against us in a couple years.

Iowa fans seem quite sure there will be a lot of orange in the crowd and possibly the Krush ... GOD, I hope they’re right! That would look amazing on top of their white out, haha.

I want to win in Iowa City SO badly, but first we have to get this thing to 7 and take care of the Golden Gophers. We’ll likely need Kofi back to form. Win two this week, and the pollsters would really be slapping us in the face if we’re not knocking on the door of the top ten! Amazing times, given the past decade!

Did we get rid of the crappy teams? Shouldn't these percentages average a little closer to .500? Everyone's a winner in the big ten, except Northwestern!!!

I don’t think we will sniff the top 10 unless there are some really bad losses above us. As the B10 has slid down the rankings due to beating each other up, it becomes more difficult to rise too. Of course if we don’t lose any more games we will get there, but it may be tougher than we think it should be. At least that looks like how its been so far this year with the polls.
