Glad our defenders played better today, but we must spend money for even better ones if we want to keep on a upward trend next year. I hate it that college football has become transactions , with a little development thrown in, but thats reality going forward. I ask a question. Do you know any player that Cignetti, as a head coach, recruited out of high school to make it to the NFL?
Funny you should mention that. Watching the Vikings rookie just now, Miles Price, returning a nice kickoff for 61 yards. The announcers said he came out of Indinia. Don't know if Cigs recruited though. Probably not unless he came with Cigs from JMU and was recruited from high school there.

I always get aisle seats just for that reason. It’s easier to get up and step out to the aisle and let people in and out, than it is to try and let them squeeze by if you’re in the middle of the row.

There’s a young couple sitting next to us this year, that are first time season ticket holders. They show up about ten minutes after kickoff, every game. And then they leave and come back at least once in the first half, if not more. And then we never see them again in the second half. I don’t know where they go but they’re gone by halftime every week.

I have season tickets for the first time and it’s been frustrating as we have seats 1 and 2 and we are constantly having to stand up and let people in and out and it’s not fun. Why people constantly have to get up and go get whatever. It’s the same people that are getting up every 15 minutes. I left at halftime as I could not deal with it. Selling the last two games.
At times it does get irritating. I never say anything, but I am always wondering if these people even have a clue what they are watching and doing. Regardless of the sport; baseball, basketball, but particularly football, there is so much down time between the action. Between the time between plays, TV timeouts, referee discussion, etc. the total "action" time is less than 25% of the time you are in the stands. I can not believe how many times, right before the snap, somebody will decide NOW is the time to leave (for whatever reason). I come to watch live sporting events and how the action is about to unfold, without being at the mercy of the broadcast camera decisions. Unfortunately, that is most of the population throughout day-to-day life. Whether it's driving, waiting in line, or attneding a sporting event, most people are so self-focused, "me" people that have no regard for others. Maybe we need to have system like stage play theaters. Even a message with the delivery of the tickets, suggesting this consideration. On second thought, most o fthose people wouldn't even know when the appropriate times occur. Sorry for the rant. It happens to be a pet peave of mine. And, get off my lawn. :)

Always thought other sports should deploy the same policy as the Hawks. If the puck is in play you have to wait until a stoppage to return to your seat. Baseball is a tough one too. Even in the playoffs, I had some interesting seat neighbors at Cubs games

I just put my forearm up and block them and say, "Hold on a sec until the play is over."
Once the play is over, "Ok" and drop my arm.

They figure it out.

If they are in a row where I can't block them I just stand up.

Having to jostle around when you're at the end of the row is part of Memorial Stadium. Maybe end rows won't be so popular once the newbies figure out the drawbacks. Also with OSU not on the home schedule next year I'll guess some people won't renew as they may not have made as much money on re-selling as they thought. Use this to your advantage and shuffle your seats around next year. I hope to do just that.

Why people go to the games and then only partially watch is beyond me. Plus Illinois makes it tough to buy booze (so less concession/bathroom trips). Some outlets require you to show your ID twice. Really, I'm not far from 60. If you don't trust your vendors to use common sense, I'll pass on the alcohol purchases.

My wife has convinced me not to do or say anything, because then I will be perceived as the jerk. Since, I never leave my seat at Memorial Stadium, mainly due to the effort for me with a cane, I decided to get tickets in the middle of the section, instead of near the end. As it turns out, that strategy proved to have no merit. Regarding next year, I don't think we will see sellouts like this year, but I don't expect season tickets to decline.
