Was too tired to post anything after the game. That was brutal. 1. Those refs destroyed any chance of having a watchable game. Absolutely garbage. Not even that they were necessarily anti-Illinois, they were just terrible. No consistency. A foul was called what, every 20 seconds or so? Just terrible. I wish there were consequences, but they'll be right back out there for the next game. 2. I'm not necessarily unhappy about how we played. I think it was just a rough game against a not good/not bad team that likes to muck it up, so the officiating played right into it. The game was ugly, and they eventually pulled it off. Big win. 3. I'm a little worried about our 3/4 position. Damonte apparently has been dealing with an injury. Miller has been hitting some pretty significant rough patches (to be expected from a freshman). Really want to see Grandison play with consistency. I think he's the answer at 4 for this particular roster. A couple random Indiana thoughts: 4. Trayce Jackson Davis: first off I had no idea he was Dale Davis' kid. I remember him on those 90s Pacers teams. I don't get the hype with him. I pretty much only watch them when they're playing Illinois, but I don't think he's an NBA player. I don't see it. To me, he seems like the classic "overhyped kid of an NBA player that was overrated basically his entire youth career" so now everyone just has this assumption that he's gonna be a pro. He has no shooting range or handles to be a modern 4. He doesn't have the size to be a center. I don't get it. 5. What the heck is Indiana and Archie Miller now? They play that muck-it-up, ugly game of physical, fouling defense and somewhat awful offense. This is like watching a good Chambers Penn State team or a bad Painter Purdue team. There's no way Indiana fans are happy about this being their identity/team.
