Alright, that was a trap game and I couldn't help envisioning the loss from the very start of the game. Kopp in the 1st half, Beran in the second half. That stud lacrosse player was game all night long. Matching us on the Boards was certainly unexpected and a bit alarming. I was truly surprised we couldn't keep them from scoring. They found a way to keep the dribble alive in the center of the court and denied us from cutting the court in half on multiple occasions. It forced us to collapse on both sides leaving many open kicked out threes. That they drained. That was not a good defensive game and they will have to refine their skeme going forward. On the other hand, the offense was very good and we found a way against that strange 2-3 zone. I've never seen a team that had their top two so close together with their wings also so high. Almost like a 4-1 zone, sorta like a zone for a spread offense team. Regardless didn't work. We shot very well and found multiple ways to break it down. Great slips bases by Tre and Damonte were perfect examples of high low zone breakdowns. They did a very good job of finding ways into the middle of the zone. Georgi and Ayo with super efficient games tonight. Loved the midrange baseline splashes by Georgi and that three was clutch in the second half. He was a positive influence all game long. Love his unselfish play and desire to help the cause. Ayo was Mr. Clutch again, game after game of late game heroics. 6 assists, this man is a force. Massive Fts to boot. But this game belonged to Trent. Multiple 3s, 0 turnovers, ball handling all game long, defensive tenacity. Game is maturing and he is becoming the leader of this team. He actually lead the team in minutes. When he plays like this on offense he adds a facet to this team that is sorely missing. The inserting of him as the primary ball handler and solidifying the second unit with Tre, Kipper and AG has been the best move of Underwood's time. Great shooting night and just enough on defensive to avoid what would have been a crushing blow.
