I don't know his reasoning, but I will say this, #14 (Jordan Tillery) was the only end of the bench VCU player that got a basket in the last 2 minutes. He didn't get in the game at all against North Carolina. I have to say, if I scored my first (maybe only) basket in the NCAA tournament, I am absolutely taking and keeping that ball.

Took my wife to the game. Waited it out until 2 hours before the Duke tipoff to get tickets and ended up sitting 2 rows back near the VCU bench. Can't tell you how happy I am we went to see the Illini.
The place absolutely exploded after that dunk. I got goose bumps and jumped up out of my chair! Only drawback being there in person is that I could not see the replay until later at home.
What a game to attend in person! It was great hanging out after the game watching just how happy the guys were. Brad came over to the Illini fans and said thank you multiple times.

I don't think it was. I think Petro just didn't like the guy walking directly at him and into his space, so he responded in kind with a bit of a unsportsmanlike gesture of his own.
As someone who played in college, and sat on the end of the bench. I’ll tell you there’s a bit of a code between the benchwarmers.
Sometimes there’s inside jokes like giving one another stats as the clock runs down.

lol yeah, I highly doubt he was that much aware of who scored on the other team and whether that guy played in the prior game. I don't think he was thinking of really anything in the moment
