I'm not saying it is bad to shoot a partially open 3, but, come on, when you are shooting 2 for 14 (14%) from 3, then you only should be shooting the SUPER wide-open 3s like that. Note that CH was 1-5 from 3 tonight and shot 28% from 3 last season. Sorry, none of these numbers are good. They all are clearly less than 1 in 3 (33.3% or 1 point per shot), which is roughly the minimum shooting percentage anybody should take 3s at, if we have other good options on offense, say other 2pt shooter who average about 50% or more (we have about 4 or more of these) or other 3pt shooters at 33.3% or above (we have 3 of these).

So, yes, excellent shot by CH here. Someone here made the point a few games ago that CH's feet are too far back (it looks like 3-4 feet behind the line to be precise) when he shoots most 3s. Initially, I said that was okay and not to worry about his feet too much. But I've changed my mind. His feet are often so far back that it significantly makes the shot more distant. Not 20' 9", but roughly a 25'-foot shot! This other poster was right, and I was wrong before. That is just too much. If you look at CH's 3pt shot at 2:48 left everything is so much better on that shot. His toes are just inches behind the line. He had SO MUCH time. He looks great. Almost like a FT, but longer and a little flatter. Yeah, it's Coleman. I have NO problem with this type of 3-pt shot! And I won't even complain if it doesn't go in. Can he please only shoot these types of 3pt attempts going forward? His percentage would go up to about 35% for the first time in his life, and he could play (rather than sit) in the NBA, and the Illini would be incredible if he did!

[QUOTE="cjw1901, post: 1974725, member: 748031"] Yes, that shot with 2:48 left in the game was the best-looking 3 that CH made this entire season (he has just 2 made 3s to choose from this season, you know), but let's talk about how it compares to the rest of his 3pt attempts. He was SUPER wide open for that particular shot (where he normally is only partially open). I'm not saying it is bad to shoot a partially open 3, but, come on, when you are shooting 2 for 14 (14%) from 3, then you only should be shooting the SUPER wide-open 3s like that.
