A Tale of Two... Halves. The Bad Half: Illini giving up 28 points in the first 10 minutes... Illini giving up 51 points and being outscored 20 to 10 in the paint in the first half... and looking lost. The Good Half: Illini waking up after halftime. Not panicking. Finally catching and leading the Huskers with 8 minutes remaining... Shannon playing like the greatly-talented alpha he is and shining brightly on the big National stage (Big Ten tourney scoring record)... other Illini players finally stepping up in the second half and giving Shannon some help – Rodgers great energy, Goode finding the mark... Huskers going dead from Three and not looking like the same shooters from the first half. This was the kind of tournament performance we need to see (more of these, please!) from Our Beloved. A different looking team and attitude from the day before. The table is set! The Big Ten Championship is right there for the taking. Our Neighbors to the North were nice enough to remove out one big obstacle to the conference crown. And let’s get ready to watch a former Mr. Basketball from Wisconsin have a great game against his big home state U. And also, playing two good halves all the time.
