I think Luke has an incredible future ahead of him. He's going to be really good for us next season with the experience he's gained. John Paddock needs to start this game. He gets the ball out faster, he's more accurate downfield, and he opens up our offense in a way Luke just doesn't yet. Plus, Paddock is completely ice cold. Without question at this point, we need to roll with Paddock.

I’m sorry, but I think Altmyer better have the best game any Illini ever had if he starts or there are going to be some serious questions. I get the logic, but there will be major questions if it doesn’t go well.

I would be most worried about creating drama in the team. You’ve got guys on offense rallying around Paddock. Now you throw that out? I’ll wait until a decision is made, but I don’t envy the coaches.

It's just not a logical football decision to pull Paddock until he gives you a reason to. He is so fluid and in rhythm right now. Luke has had some excellent moments, but he has not looked this hot at any point this year.
Paddock is locked in. You have to go into battle with the hot hand. You don't pick up a .45 and go to battle and leave your assault rifle in the locker.
