As somebody with a ton of Marquette friends, I can't wait for this one.
My in laws are all Marquette grads. Love them, but it's gonna be fun to watch the illini win...

B1G should dominate this, right? Only given I see for the Big East is Creighton over Nebraska. I see the B1G being the favorite in the vast majority of games.

And I wouldn't count that as a sure thing for the Big East either, since Nebraska has added lots of talent the last few years in transfers and a 5-star freshmen coming in.

Yeah, my niece and nephew in law are Marquette grads. I think he has season tickets, maybe I can make a trip to Milwaukee.

As someone who also has Marquette friends, I’m pumped for this one! Would be nice to see a good crowd of Chicagoland/Northern IL Illini fans make the trek.

Was surprised to see we haven't played Marquette since 1993. Given the relatively short distance between the schools, I figured we would have played them more often than we have. I just looked at the box score, we had both Deon Thomas and Kiwane Garris in the starting lineup. We haven't beat them since 1980, but only 0-2 in that stretch.
I don't think we've played Kentucky since 1984. Haven't beaten them since 1966.
We've played DePaul once since 1957.

Louisville, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Butler, Marquette are all close enough teams that we’d probably be able to get a good game from. Not terrible travel for a home and home and even less if we went neutral.

What are you disagreeing with? Fighter of Nightman does not have Marquette friends? FONM is not in fact pumped about game? It would not be good to have a strong showing of Illini fans?

That kind of thinking is so antiquated but to each their own. I'll gladly be with a crowd of Illini fans, regardless of where we're living, screaming my lungs out come November.
