The Illini open the season on the road with a very good Tulane team. The pitching rotation has been announced and the #2 and #3 starters are huge surprises. Obviously they are going with veterans but the more talented arms are freshmen.

I doubt we'll see a year like last season but this should be a very solid team nonetheless.

Well that game was interesting. I think the goodwill of Whitman is already gone. Down 2-0 with 2 outs in the 9th, come back to force extras. Score three in the T10 and then lose on a walk-off 3-R homer.

Give me a break.

I resolve every year to pay more attention to Illini baseball, go to games, and catch them on BTN. This year, I'm going to actually do it.

Sedlock is a great pitcher. I'm not sure of our #2 and #3 coming out of the pre-season but we'll see. Illini baseball has an incredible future and a chance to be the best cold weather team in the country going forward (there's not many).

Wins over Central Michigan, Stetson, & Villanova at the Stetson Invitational in Deland, FL over the weekend push the Illini to 6-3 on the season. This weekend is the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Myrtle Beach, SC. (Coastal Carolina & UNC Greensboro)

Illinois pitching is great again. If the offense improves, this team will be in contention again for a Big Ten title.
