WR Isaiah Neyor is also leaving with Williams from Wyoming. Neyor is a flat out playmaker! Interested to see if they are a package deal or what as both from Texas

Worst was Gary Moeller and his assistant, Lloyd Carr, quitting on us to go back to Michigan....If only we paid them more...
Even worse was Glen Mason leaving us for the gophers and Norm Parker going to Iowa as defensive coordinator for like a million years. We should have opened the bank.

Looking back on it, Moeller had an eye for up and coming assistants.

I'll show myself out.

Illinois didn't fire Self. He fired Illinois.
RG refused to give self a measly 50cent raise. All he cared about giving resources to was football. He was a tool.

This is why I can’t stand minor criticisms of Whitman overshadowing the positive culture change he’s brought. For the first time in modern memory, Illinois will not be outspent. Period. We’ll lose a former UK assistant to return to the best job in college basketball, but we’ll match penny for penny.

If memory serves, Self, just a few months before he left for Kansas, had signed a new 5 year contract with Illinois, which included a pay raise. That's why RG, right or wrong, refused to try to match the offer Kansas was making Self. He felt that Self should have honored the contract he had just signed.,
