Interesting read in comments…Purdue has good shot/ possible lead for Card??

247 sports and Texas forums are hinting it's likely that Purdue lands Hudson Card so it's no surprise Allen would transfer if he didn't think he could win a starting spot for the next 2-3 years.

Card was hinting at Oregon State, Notre Dame, Illinois, and Purdue. Oregon State is now out. Purdue with Harrell's Air Raid has a likely shot.

Altmyer doesn’t have much experience, but he does have three years of eligibility and seems to have the measurables which leads to a high upside. I’d like to see someone more proven, but the staff has a good track record on evals and development.

I didn’t realize Purdue had such a need for QB. Did Brohm leave the cupboard bare? I mean he has been relying AOc for like the last 5 years right?

But I would have assumed they would have a 3rd or 4th year guy ready to go behind him.

you really wonder, in those situations, who can you really get that is going to be any better than rs-frosh Leary, frosh Swanson or the walk on who was there all year. At some point , in those crappy situations, you just need to see what the young guys that you have can do

The reasons for Allen entering the transfer portal aren't predicated on Card going to Purdue. They could be bringing in Card or a number of other transfer QBs. The portal timeline is ending very soon so you could see some guys who have just enough doubt about their future decide on finding a new home instead of risking staying at their current institution and finding out they are bringing in someone new at your position.

wow, this is adding salt to the wounds right now . Of all the places to go, why does it have to be there for obvious reasons? Well, let's hope it's Altmyer for us now. we better dish out good NIL money for him. Our options are going down.
