My friends, after watching the spring game highlights, I am sorry to report that our helmet decal alignment issue continues to plague us. Who can deliver us from this?
Fire all equipment staff. This is inexcusable. My friends, after watching the spring game highlights, I am sorry to report that our helmet decal alignment issue continues to plague us. Who can deliver us from this?

I don't see anything wrong with the alignment of the I. I kinda like the fact that the I leans forward. To me that looks a bit "faster".
So its not even consistently rotated.
I wonder if its due to different helmet styles- both players have a different helmet shell - ie. air holes, etc. No excuse, just wondering how this could be inconsistent ....I think this perfectly illustrates it too. Helmets are at similar angles and the block I's aren't. So its not even consistently rotated.
I'd still pick having the correct stroke over the rotation though.

#FixTheI - we need a new cause now that Alma is gone and Tevian is free. When you look at other programs, they just stick the decals over the holes and ridges and whatnot. Which can kinda look goofy when you get to looking at it up close, but it looks right on TV and from the stands, and that's what matters.

This image is honestly causing me to break out in hives.

Pretty sure this calls for an Engineering student team contest to build an automated helmet sticker applier thingy.... alas - one more job replaced by automation.I think the helmets are put on a table and the sticker is put on vertically plumb
the issue is some helmets wear differently on the head than others, causing the letter to look out of plumb when worn.
there is a solution, but no one other than a few guys on here seem to care.
I don't think it looks good, but on a list of 1000 things wrong with UI football or my life, its like # 998 to worry about. right after # 997, which is when my wife hangs my shirts up , fresh from the cleaners no less, in the wrong direction in my closet. WILMA!!!!!
Some small updates, fonts, etc etc. And i think these could go up against any jersey in the country. View attachment 3713
annual reminder that this is what our uniform should look like
Seriously though - What do we need to do to make this our primary set? These unis are incredible
Despite the helmet sticker incompetence, I think our uniforms rank up there with the best in college football
I think as long as we go O/B/O at home, we're fine for those half of the games. What the road uniforms should be is up for debate. Personally, I loathe the O/W/O set, although I know a lot of people like those and it's historically what we've worn most often. My personal favorite road uniform recently is W/W/W. Back in the 90s, though, I was always a fan of O/W/B on the road.
Someone mentioned earlier that we should always go with Bears colors (B/B/W or B/W/B) when we play Northwestern. I'd be fine with that, I guess, but I still always prefer O/B/O at home.
I'm flipping around to a bunch of games this afternoon, and I've gotta say, I am just bored to tears of all the mix-and-match colors and helmet finishes and special helmet stickers and all the other random ephemera.
I was never a fan of the Alabama and Penn State type nostalgia looks. I still don't think those are the best dressed teams around. But they are now the ones making a fashion statement and standing out from the pack, not the other way around.
