That he is leaving is apparently pure speculation. People repeat something over and over and in some people's mind it becomes fact.

Please let it happen. Kofi + Curbelo + Franklin could be the foundation of a really good team. I won't let myself dream of Mitchell alongside Kofi.

If you trust this staff to take chances on lower-ranked players, then you can probably trust them when they take chances on higher-ranked transfers. The rankings diminish in importance if you trust in this staff's ability to evaluate and develop talent.

Let's see what you can really do, Payne.

Payne is a massive improvement on the defensive end for the backup 5 spot right now, its really not even a question. Any improvement offensively honestly is just icing on the cake and he should see that stats wise just from playing with Curbelo.

I agree with this in principle but I don’t know these young men, so I’m not going to judge them on one incident. If you’re happy with the culture that BU and his staff built so far, then I think you need to give him the benefit of the doubt for now at least. That’s my mindset anyways.

Has their been any new names for transfers to Illinois not being name dropped on here? This is such a wild and unsettling time. Team cohesiveness will be tougher for most teams this next year. Was hoping for TyTy but thinking we might be on the outside looking in. Lville thanks for the info much appreciated

BU and staff will wait for the right player, to jump on Payne tells me he was very high on their list.

Does BU try to build a bench with transfers or projects heavy minutes for Goode, Melendez? Hutcherson is the X factor. Getting Tre Mitchell and keeping Kofi gived us a ton of options. Possibly can move Grandison to SF/wing vs stretch 4.

Franklin would be a tremendous addition.

Replacing Kofi the biggest unknown and suspect it is also not known by the staff. Payne a great insurance policy and Mitchell addition would put us almost even although different. Franklin would cover loss of Ace and Hutch at full strength plus Belo’s improvement would put us close to this years team. Add improvement of Hawk and BBV and maybe some TyTy, Goode and Melendez and maybe we are fully setup for great things until we aren’t.

Here's what I noticed. Not a lot of definitive positive statements in your post. And actually, I think that's pretty fair at this stage. Lots of unknowns for the Big 10 Champs --- especially with everyone on the roster eligible to return.
