Sencire Harris seems like a great teammate. He's always posting pro Illinois stuff on social media and engaging with fans. Definitely a guy who might win the fans over early.

**This is a very small sample size. There's way more - including him posting a picture of Chester Frazier and dubbing him his favorite Illini**

Smart from an NIL perspective too. May see this from more players over time.

Interesting twist considering some of the recent comments here.
Jmo, but I have a hard time believing if Underwood, or the coaching staff had doubts about a recruit that has given a verbal, they would be sharing that with anyone, other that the recruit. It would be extremely childish and unprofessional to let something like that out.

It would be childish if they intentionally leaked it but sometimes things get out that are unintentional.

Tre holloman (2022 guard) implied that he was cutting down his list or committing soon on his Instagram story. We are in his final 6, but I have no idea if we are still recruiting him hard with all our guards already…

As I watch high school basketball players migrate from program to program I realized I have no idea if there are any rules, IHSA or otherwise, that regulate high school coaches contact with and promises to high school players. If so, what? From the outside it looks like the Wild West. As we talk about “pipelines” do college recruiters steer high school players to particular programs or is that exclusively the job of the shoe companies?

In Illinois, IHSA rule 3.070 prohibits all recruiting (including even by other students). I'm sure this rule is followed very strictly /s.

It's like the NFL! Hampton and Walter you know would remain on the Bears forever. Now days it's 95% about the $$$. Players moving from one team to another. Some teams have to rebuild almost every year.

Hey man, if someone is gonna pay me 30% more to do the same job, I'm gone. I'm all about loyalty, but when you have a short earnings window and you could have that career ended at anytime, you take the money.

Trends are breaking. They do return to their own school after all

Man we're really dedicating a lot to this for a walk on. This is the only thing I'll say about it:

I get the vibes that Edgar didn't want to leave. I have no idea why he did, but...
1. His bio still says University of Illinois
2. Around the time the transfer was announced, he tweeted, "I just want to play basketbal man... :/"

Who knows what happened, but I never understood why some people saw him as someone who could earn a scholarship. Maybe he could, but for fans to suggest it with no support seemed like a stretch
We are nothing if not consistent!

I’ve heard it a few times that we have no chance at landing JJ Taylor. Is there any actual evidence to that or is it “we don’t land top recruits” so we don’t see any chance of getting him. Honestly curious because at some point it would be nice to see Illinois land a few of the top recruits when they are from Illinois.

Nobody is going to land JJ. He will be going pro imo.
